Improve your race times with the EZ Hydro-Gains
This table shows you how much time you can expect to save across different distances if you held the same power for your race. Whether you're pushing 150 watts (or lower) or 250 watts (or higher) you'll be saving time. This is taking an average saving for the EZ Hydro-Gains from various wind tunnel testing sessions.
Save Up to 17 Watts!
Independently verified through Fast or Fiction, their data shown here shows how you can save a lot of watts through different configurations when compared to no rear hydration system. Click to zoom in!

How the EZ Hydro-Gains Reduces Drag:
Airflow over a triathlete forms a large chaotic wake behind the rider, this creates pressure drag which overall increases their aerodynamic drag. With an aerodynamically efficient rear bottle system, like the EZ Hydro Gains, the area behind the rider is 'filled in' reducing the size of this chaotic wake and overall reducing a riders CdA. This difference in airflow is simplified and shown in the diagrams to the left, click between the images to see how you can reduce your Aerodynamic Drag by using the EZ Hydro Gains!
Wind Tunnel Validated ✅ The Fastest BTS
The optimal BTS setup can vary between riders, but our testing has identified several consistent trends.
In most cases, a double-bottle configuration is faster than a single-bottle setup for athletes weighing over 60 kg or those with wider hips. Bottle position is critical—the bottles should be placed as close to the rider's body as possible. Our testing indicates that moving the bottles approximately 25 mm further away from the body can increase aerodynamic drag by around one watt.
Rider position and body shape also influence the ideal bottle choice. Riders with a more rounded back often benefit from smaller bottles, while those with a flatter back may achieve better aerodynamic performance with larger bottles. The goal is to minimise airflow disturbance behind the rider.
The rear of the BTS system is particularly important. Airflow at this point is already wrapping around the rider's body, so larger BTS structures or oversized "fin" designs can increase drag by presenting a larger surface for the airflow to separate around. A more compact design generally produces less aerodynamic disturbance.

The test subject wanted to identify the fastest BTS system on the market, EZ Gains totally embraced this challenge, it was important to test the most optimal set-up, so it could give a fair comparison.
Bottles Close to the Bum IS Faster, its not possible to do this with most other BTS units on the market, especially if you sit FORWARD on the saddle.
Pro Testing Wind Tunnel Validated ✅
Endless testing now shows that the EZ Hydro-Gains, is the go to hydration system. However, it's not just about being fast it's about being safe!! With ISO manufacture accreditations and protocol strength testing, you know you are not putting your own or anyone else's safety at risk. Purpose built for each saddle and attaching securely.
This is why the best in the world use the EZ Hydro-Gains. With over 400 pro athletes choosing EZ Hydro-Gains, it's probably the most popular rear hydration system in the world of triathlon.
Attached is an average of the savings from the pro triathletes tested, its always lower with athletes who are extremely optimized already and you would expect higher gains from a less aero athlete.

The EZ Hydro-Gains®support system for your rear hydration bottles, uses a fin mechanism that contanies an adjustment system for your bottles, so you can adapt your bottles into the perfect position that suits you, the gains come from the bottles being moved to a horizontal position closer to you bottom, also allowing you to access your hydration safely rather then conventional vertical bottles.Verfiried through our own wind tunnel testing and several external sources. Flip your bottles YES/NO ? Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub 08/07/26
Independent Testing Engineer: Wind Tunnel Verification: Independent Test Subjects
Its a fine balance like anything in Triathlon one trade of against another, EZ Gains tested flipping the bottles round so the nozzle faces the rider bottom, this might help with bottle ejection and possibly in some cases easier to access, "you will not need to flip the bottle's when using the TriRig cages due to the bottle hold strength" but could become difficult if the bottles are close to the bottom as they should be "in the most aerodynamic position".

The safest bottle holder system, "bump tested " this is due to the positioning of the cage, its a lot easier for a bottle to fly out of a vertical holder system rather then a horizontal system due to the force it takes to take a bottle out from the side, its almost impossible.
Weight testing to 33lb of weight and they still held firm, over 600,000 kilometres of road testing with 750ml bottles.
Also EZ Gains individually make the saddle clamps "and exceeded some existing clamps" for each seat giving you an exact fit rather then a universal clamp which will never exactly fit your saddle.
Another main factor is, the athletes do not need to lean as far back to grab there hydration, thus giving them more control of there bike when hydrating and exchanging bottles.
