For customers who purchased the EZ Hydro-Gains after 1st June 2026:

Your system was supplied with blue thread-lock screws. Following extensive testing of several different options, these provided the best performance in preventing screws from working loose on rough or bumpy roads.

The thread-locking compound is expected to remain effective for approximately 3–4 removals and re-installations before its locking properties begin to reduce.

If you choose not to upgrade

Please check the screws on your Hydro-Gains system periodically. This area is subjected to significant vibration and weight transfer during use, particularly on uneven roads.

Recommended tightening torque

Please avoid using a standard Allen key, as it's very difficult to achieve the correct torque consistently. A torque wrench or torque screwdriver with an Allen bit is strongly recommended.

• 3 Nm – Main mounting screws (or tighten until firmly hand-tight if a torque tool isn't available).
• 2 Nm – Double Bottle Attachment (or tighten until securely hand-tight if a torque tool isn't available).

Please make checking that all bolts remain tight a regular part of your maintenance routine.
