The EZ Hydro-Glide® was developed to address these challenges through a simple but innovative concept: helping swimmers better manage how the body responds to temperature during a swim.

Rather than being just another swim cap accessory, the Hydro-Glide® has been designed around one of the body's most important thermal regulation zones, the head. By focusing on how the head responds to temperature, pressure and water exposure, the Hydro-Glide® aims to help swimmers maintain greater comfort and control in both cold and warm water conditions.

Managing Cold Water Shock  When swimmers enter cold water, the body can experience an immediate cold shock response. This natural physiological reaction can lead to:

Stay Safe Impact Technology  The Hydro-Glide® incorporates a tunable lattice structure designed to improve stability, energy absorption and impact-force dissipation in water. Similar lattice technologies are used in Formula 1 engineering, cycling helmets and professional sporting equipment where force management is critical.

In swimming applications, this structure may help improve head stability and reduce the effect of incidental impacts that can occur during crowded training sessions or race starts. 

Optional GPS Tracking Capability  Safety remains a major consideration in open-water swimming. The Hydro-Glide® platform has been designed to accommodate GPS tracking technology, allowing swimmers to share location information during training sessions and events.

The system can provide location updates approximately every 30 seconds, helping improve visibility for race organisers, support crews and family members following the swimmer's progress.

The included thermal regulated bag helps keep the Hydro-Glide® cool and ready for use before training sessions and race starts. For best results, swimmers should familiarise themselves with the fitting process before race day.

Developed with Ultra Cool Tech The EZ Hydro-Glide® project brought EZ Gains® and Ultra Cool Tech together with a shared mission: creating a cooling system that genuinely improves swimmer comfort and thermal management. Ultra Cool Tech contributed expertise in active cooling engineering, material science and athlete-tested thermal solutions.

Together, the teams explored different Phase Change Material (PCM) formulations, tested heat absorption profiles and refined the integration process to ensure the cooling pack fitted seamlessly within the Hydro-Glide® design. The result is a clean, intuitive system powered by real engineering and developed specifically for swimmers. Final Thoughts
